Post by crookymnster6812 »

I recently bought the kassoilator pro and am thinking id rather have the KP3. I have a mixer and like to DJ and think the KP3 would help a lot. I have several questions. With the KP3 i can hook my controller so I can do live effects with it correct? Some one please help me out.

I don't know quite what you mean about hooking up a controller. The KP3 is primarily an audio effects processor, so you could hook a synth, MP3/CD player, deck, etc up to its inputs and apply effects. Like a guitar pedal or rack unit.

It can also load samples to the four pads, you can play them back and they'll go through the effects too so you can filter them, delay, pitch shift, etc.

You don't have to load samples from a card - although you'll probably want to load and save - but you can sample from the audio inputs, i.e. record the input to make a sample for one of the pads.

You can apply effects to whatever is going into the KP3, so that could be output from a mixer, audio interface, computer, CD player, keyboard, etc.

Effects will also be applied to the playing sample pads. You can't have effects on the audio in but not the samples, or the other way around, it has to be on everything going through.

So I think the answer to your question is yes. still don't know what you mean by a PAD?

A pad to me is usually either a button that plays back a sample or triggers a chord or something - like the A-D buttons on the KP3, the chord triggers on the M3, M50, KARMA, OASYS, the pads on the padKontrol, etc.
or a pad is a synth-string like backing sound that you usually play block chords with on a synth/workstation/keyboard.
