Not quite the same as the ER-1. I have an ER-1 here and it only has a fixed delay effect.

Shame they didn't include song mode or the switch to turn the effects on/off per part.

I think I would definitely get this if I had an iPad. Would rather an ES, EM, or EA version though. I think the ER-1's sounds were fairly bad, unless you want everything to sound like minimal techno or Kraftwerk.

You can switch effect send per part and step. The UI has a "FX Send" button. See http://www.korguser.net/ielectribe/en/fx_send.html.
