Hi! Need a bit of help.

Post by wheresbear »

Hey there.

I've always liked techno and electronic music, and I got a Microkorg for Christmas, and I'm going to get a Koassolator in April. I've got a mac laptop (2006 it's getting a little out of date but it works great), and I want to make some music.

I've been taking piano for several years now, and I know music really well. I just have no idea what stuff I need to start making music, or how the process works.

I've got 300$ to burn on Software, sound chips or whatever. How can I actually start to mix music together. Sorry kind of new at this.

Thank you.

Hey Bear,
Welcome To Korg Forums! :)
Electronic music is mostly what I do. I have Cubase 5 full version. Normally costs $600 but if your a student you can get it for $300.
For me its awesome. But that you have a Mac you could get Pro Tools. That seems to be great for a Mac.
If I were you I'd try and check out as many Demos as you can to see what Software fits you best cause theres plenty to choose from. After you get your software, you need to get an Midi Interface. So you can pick up a cheap one at about $140. I use fast track pro from Maudio.
than for a basic setup you would need a Midi Keyboard to control the software as you are a piano player.

that should get you started.

Good luck mate! :verycool:
