KPro: Is it possible to merge two banks onto a third one?
Hi,
I have the situation that I overdubbed lots of layers on one bank and it sounds cool and then I mess it up with a stupid move and can't repair it. What I do want to do is to try out the move in question on a different bank and in case I did it right I would like to merge the sound of the two banks onto a third one. Is this possible?

In a word, no. It is one of the issues many people have talked about on this forum, the lack of the ability to "bounce" or "resample" the loops to different loop banks.
I agree. It would have been a good idea and I'd guess it wouldn't have been that difficult to implement but then, they want people to buy the KP3 and this is just another little reason to do that.

yep you can, but korg don't want you to do it easyblueber wrote:then I mess it up with a stupid move and can't repair it. so either: save before each overdub (it's boooooring but okay, you'll get used to it)
or do it like THIS
or use the "fix algorithm":

1. Record to all 4 banks
2. record the next layer on bank A+B.
if it worked out go to 3.
if you fail save bank D, reload to all banks and start again with 2.
3. record next layer on bank A - if it works, save bank A, reload to all 4 banks an go to 2.
if you fail you are not good enough Wink save bank B, load to all 4 banks an go to 2.
Thank you!
Thank both of you for the information! It is a bit of a shame that Korg makes it that difficult on purpose. I do like the device a lot but that does defintily lower my rating and level of recommendation. Thx anyhow for the quick answers!

I'm not sure this is why they left that feature out.. even if you had a KP3, you couldn't easily just bounce once loopbank over, cause you'd have to mute the other banks to sample the bank you want. That would be pretty useless in a live setting, blasting just one loop for a full 8 or 16 beats just to bounce it to another loop bank.Mr36 wrote:I agree. I'm not sure that's why they did it either. And in that situation, it wouldn't be ideal, but I think the ability of the KP3 to resample might have had some impact on their decision not to include it in the KPro. If the KPro could resample, there would be less reason to buy a KP3. It would then just be reliant on its effects to sell.
But no, it's not entirely why. Just a little reason.
