Post by hansdobbratz »

Hello, does anyone know where I can get a copy of the ER-1 electribe rhythm synthesizer owner's manual? I would be very grateful for any help.
Thanks, Hans

Hi Hans, Welcome to the forum.

You can find it at www.korg.com, under Support. You'll have to look in Select a Category, DJ Remix Production, then Select a Product, ER 1 Mk11 and you'll find it in PDF format, you can also save it to your HDD if you want. I hope this helps.

Thanks. Is the mk11 different from the ordinary ER-1?

Believe me they are no ordinary bits of kit! hehehe

Just like Pastor of Puppets says'

'basically the same as the ER1, but in a metal case, and it allows cross modulation for synth parts 1 & 2 instead of ring mod found on the original ER1'

Two oscillators, whose frequencies were harmonically related and ring modulated against each other, produce sounds that still adhered to the overtones of the notes, but contain a very different spectral make up.

Cross modulation is where you have two synth parts that can be mixed or blended together to form a sound which will be in harmony or dissonant.

I hope this helps, I think I'm right with the cross-mod explanation, if I'm not I'll soon be told hehehe

Thanks for the reply about the ER-1 vs Mk 11. Time to dig in and figure it all out.
