Hello, I'm pretty new to this forum. I was looking at getting the M50. I've been searching and searching and have not found an answer. I may be blind but....
When I play live, I'd like to play a few measures of an instrumental (guitar rift, or piano) by just pressing a button so I can play along side it. Is this possible with the M50?
I don't want it to loop it, I just want it to play the specific number of measures when I need it and then stop and then come back in when I need it by pressing the button again.
I appreciate the help!

You should be able to do that with RPPR functionality. I've never used it myself, so I'm not sure how exactly it's done, but I believe the whole purpose of that feature is to do exactly what you say: trigger a short sequence while pressing a key. I'm not sure if you can trigger it from anything besides pressing a key, but there's usually no reason why you can't give up the lowest or highest keys on your keyboard to trigger a sound.
This can only be done in sequencing mode, though, which has one drawback: you can't send messages to external devices on multiple MIDI channels at once. If you already have other gear that you'd want to trigger from the M50, you'll probably want to look into this a bit more closely, or consider also purchasing a device like a MIDI Solutions Router to work around this.

I would only 'need' this when I'm playing live.
Does anyone know if the chord assign buttons work for this as well?

I just saw a youtube video where he said that the chord assign buttons will in fact work to assign a sequence.

I went down this road. http://www.korgforums.com/forum/phpBB2/ ... highlight= My implementation is to change timbres on the fly, but just change the section about recording and actually record your notes instead of program changes. It'll work the same. The nice part of the key triggers is that you can assign the RPPR and the chord triggers to some really high or low note that you won't likely use.
