I AM NEW TO KORG BUT NEED TO UPGRADE MY KEYBOARD. IS A KORG IS40 FOR $175 WORTH IT? I HAVE DONE RESEARCH AND FOUND THEY WERE $1700 NEW. THANKS. ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.

Are you more into just PLAYING, or actually writing/arranging music?
The sounds are pretty dated. If you search on youtube for the X3 or 05R/W, those synthesizers have the same style of sounds on there, so give it a listen. They are rich, full sounding sounds, but sort of cartoonish sounding.
