Problem recording with sequencer

Post by Simo »

Hi everybody,

I have this question:

I create a midi track on my pc using cakewalk sonar 7, then I save it to a floppy disk and I play it on the synth Trinity with the sequencer.
To play it, I have to set diffrent settings like "voices", "volume", etc.
Can I save them to the floppy disk, so I don't have to do it again every time I turn off the synth?

Thank you very much!

Hi. I'm a little late to this thread but I just joined the forums

I'm not familiar with the Tinity but am with Sonar 7 so I can offer you a few tips:

1) Create intrument definitions in Sonar for the Trinitiy.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F2anx529KMY
If the Trinity isn't in the Korg template as shown in the video, you probably have to manually add each patch name/number. The list probably came with the trinity documentation.

2) Explicitly add volume, pan and bank/patch change (and any other midi setting) in the track. I usually use bar 1, beat 1 for all of these events.

Now, when you create your MIDI track, all of those MIDI-specific settings are actually in the track.

Hope that helps.
