Korg ESX-1 dust cover

Post by Dietrich »

Hello

I've been looking for some company selling dust covers fitted for my Korg ESX and bumped into this one: http://www.digitaldeckcovers.com/

They sell dust covers specific for the ESX-1 and much more in different fabrics (http://www.digitaldeckcovers.com/korg-novation-cart.htm) for about $20.

Does anyone have any experience with them or can recommend any other site offering the same? They should be able to ship to Europe.

Thanks

Mr Novatron, who is perhaps one of the most hardcore electribe users around is very often performing in underground tunnels, dusty fields, deserts and other dirty dusty environments (not to mention early morning rain sprinkle on an outdoor fest). His machines hold up just fine to the harsh conditions however fail from 8-hour per day knob and button abuse from playing the machines constantly.

So bro I think you're fine without one.... sort of how there's dust covers for pc keyboards... but the reality is the keyboard will fail way before hand from being worn down or just general failure rather than the dust getting to the circuitry.

some people like to keep their gear clean and pristine. repeatedly removing dust from them sucks... this is why slipcovers exist. also unlike a qwerty keyboard, the pots and contacts of a keyboard/synth/electribe which are much more precision devices and can easily become noisy or over/non-responsive due to dust. cleaning that up is even more obnoxious. a simple question like this doesnt really warrant a debate..

i personally use dust cloths and cool towels.. the only slip cover i have is for my ms20 and i got it from studioslips. i should get one for my mixer though.. thanks for the reminder.

I agree with you on that one...

Still though, to prove my point... Look at the conditions he plays in:

I mean his tribes ace completely covered by a layer of sandy dust.

this is why we appreciate the cheap price of electribes, I wouldn't play out there with a $3000 Moog
