Hey Everyone:
I just joined the Korg family with a PadKontrol. It's a bit less awesome than I had expected but I'm looking for the native mode info so I can make it every bit as awesome as I know it can be. I found the lights to be misleading on the box and feel it should chase with the beat like any good beat machine does. It should also light when the synth it controls has a hit whether physical or software. I know all this can be fixed though. I just have to find out how.
I also want to run my name through the lights on the pads. It'd be fun and ego-riffic! I'm surprised you can't do that with the editor and simply update the firmware (or whatever it has for memory) each time (or something equally effective.) Everyone loves to customize and being able to edit the idle state blinking would be supreme. The seemingly random patterns are pretty boring after a while and I'm sure they mean something to someone, just not me.
So if anyone out there has any info on how to communicate with my PadKontrol through Logic Pro 9 I'll be most attentive. I know so far that I need to use sysEx and native mode. Beyond that I'm lost. I can't figure out how to make Logic tell the padKontrol to enter native mode and i'm a lot fuzzy on the means of telling the padkontrol to do as I wish while still returning information I can use as note info or convert to note info.
Thanks everyone.
