it would be nice if u could set a sample edior in the preferences, with a button saying edit sample. now u have to export it as a wave and import it after edting

so i have a question about exporting! I know that I can import 44.1 khz and it will automatically convert it to 48 khz. What about the other way around. I want to export my files as 44.1 khz. this way the wav would be compatible with my other machines. can i do that?
