Doing your own Combi

Post by osram »

So getting further on now in my crash course in using my M50 and I've come across another problem.

Is it possible to add voices to my own Combi setting WITH the preset effects? Or do you have to add them from scratch? The Program sounds are brilliant, but not so without their reverb/chorus etc.

Thanks in advance.

You most definitely have Copy effects from program function somewhere.

You can copy the entire program or just some specific effects.
Copying the entire program can be done in Combi mode P0 by clicking the upper right corner and there is a command "Copy from Program".
For copying just the effects you need to go the effects page in Combi mode where you'll find the copying command also from the upper right corner.

You also have 700 effects presets on your hands (this requires system version V1.1.0). You can save them yourself or use the presets. These you can locate at a specific effect page (for example IFX1) in the upper right corner where it states "P: ------".

Keep in mind when using 'Copy from Program' that it overwrites the effects already there. On an Init Combi where there are none its no big deal. But just so you know you can't fill each timbre by using Copy to program because each time it will overrite to the latest effects. Its very useful for the first timbre, but after that you have to do it manually.

Also be advised that you will have available 8 effects in the combi. If you copy one program with effects is ok, but if you add another program with effects, they will overwrite the effects settings from the previous program you copied. So is a compromise, and you got to do your homework. Reasearcing each program you want to add to a combi and see how the effects can be combined.

Is not so hard, and the touchscreen is a Godsend for this and every single thing you do with your M50.
