Vocoder FAQ?

I've been searching around trying to figure out how to use the stock vocoder in sequence mode. It works great in program mode. I tried importing the program data into the sequencer track and turning on the mic via global settings, but I still can't get it to work. Ive read about other solutions like sampling the sequence and vocoder audio seperately and then layering them.

I want to record the MIDI data for the vocoder in the sequence, press play do my vocals and record the whole thing at once through the main outs. Is this possible/logical?
