Choosing between three

Post by Merlin »

Hello,

I'm posting this to all three boards: Triton Central, Tritonhaven and Irish Acts, because I'm interested in all peoples thoughts on this:

I take note of Martin's request not to post the same question on more than one board, because it wastes his time. Of course, I respect that - his time like mine is valuable and also his advice too:) But speaking for a minute as a newbie, impatient to get the most out of the shiny new toy in the fastest time possible my natural inclination is to try to get answers as quick as possible. This would mean hopfully getting the question seen by as many people as possible and thereby increasing the chances that someone will know the answer and be inclined to reply. It's not like crossposting, in that I'm not advocating off-topic posts, rather, these questions a explicitly on-topic for each board. The fact that there are 3 [who knows - maybe more?] boards all devoted to the Tritons is great. Still, my time is limited [my gf is asking yet again when I'll be finished, as I type this...] and I'm wondering if I can minimise my time spent while still getting [and giving, where I can:)] value.

I'd like opinions from all board moderators, and also other users please:
* Should I stay on all 3 and post of all 3?
* Is it ok to post the same questions on all 3?
* which board is the best?
* which board is the fastest?
* which board has the most official Korg representation, and is more likely to get a genuine answer from Korg?

Please reply with your thoughts, and TIA for your time...

IMHO, IA seems to be more geared towards (and seems to attract) more "seasoned" musicians, from what I can see, than Tritonhaven, which seems to have more "first keyboard" types. TH does have lots of great info, especially for beginners. Never been to the other one, so I can't comment on it.

The results might be flawed. I obviously voted IA, but then again, I don't follow the other two!

I voted IA. Triton Haven has a nice down/info section and the whole thing is real nice. I would be sad to see it go anywhere. Triton Central can be a lil' harsh at times, I tried to post there today on the "where's is everyone thread" just to have all kind of errors pop up. I think certain members have permanently hurt Triton Central's rep. a lil' bit(can't imagine who lol). I would be sad to see it go too, as of now they seem to be having problems. I like having them all, but IA is really a step ahead offering the awesome Triton sections along with the 01/W/Wavestation/older models, Trinity and more. It's you're one stop for many cool things. Courteous members, and genuine desire to help out fellow forum friends really put IA over the top.

IA is awesome. No contest, but I would be very sad to see the others go(Triton Haven especially)

Well, as a Karma owner I have no real need to visit www sites other than here and KLF. So... I have refrained from voting on this poll as I feel it would not be fair for me to judge other www sites based on something I know nothing about.

IA is certainly one of the most pleasantly run forums I frequent. In terms of attitude, manners and politeness it is certainly miles ahead of the forum dedicated to the software used to run it!

If I had to vote - between KLF and IA - IA would get my vote here for the same reasons above.

I actually discovered IA after I joined the Karma yahoo group, which had some negative influences. Then KLF came along, and at first, it was quite nice.
I spend very little time at other sites. They just don't have the friendly, positive feel that IA has. Everyone here seems to share a fondness for IA, that makes this place special. I't starts with the moderators, for sure, and trickles down through the membership.
I visit here every day.
I think that says it.
Regards to all.

I am very new to this forum, and have only been visiting the others for about a month.

IA has a better look and feel, and is easier to find your way around. The graphics are cleaner and more modern. The interface is more intuitive. It's easier to find the topics you want to revisit, and see what's new.

As to the people ... it's been fun so far.

With TritonCentral currently out of commission, that narrows your selection to two. Pick your favorite and start there. If you don't like the quality of the responses you get, then try the other site. For me personally, this is the friendliest site on the web.

I only hang out on two boards - IA and the Propellerheads board. Even between those two, IA feels like a board full of friends, whereas the Props board is still overrun by kiddies and twits asking for wArEZ copies of Reason (morons).

Before buying my triton I subscribe to Triton Central message board but sincerly I went lost in that mess, everywhere there were people who discuss like baby about their nationality and colours, very sad.
I never posted on that board. After a few days I descovered tritonhaven forum and I think it's a very big and usefull forum without problems of the first one. I subscribed to IA too and I think it's the more friendly forum I've seen in internet. Now I'm posting both in Irishacts and Tritonhaven and sometimes I post the same thread twice. I know that there are many people who are joining both IA and TH but there are some people who use only one forum so post twice a thread isn't a wrong thing...
