M3 Plug IN editor 64 bit

Hi,
I've just upgraded my system to 64 bit and M3 editor doesn't work in Cubase 5 64.
Are there any trick to use it?

Windows 7 64 bit has a 32-bit Win XP application environment emulator that might work. The Korg M3 Editor is 32 bit only.

Well in my home/office we don't have any version of Vista loaded on any of our computers (6 of them). We won't go near it due to compatibility problems with most of the apps I am using. Certainly the M3 Editor will not work with Vista 64. The M3 Editor is a 32 bit App and there is no 32 bit app support in Vista 64. How dumb can Microsoft get?

We are staying with XP-32 until about 6 months after Windows 7 is launched. We will then trial Windows-7 64 bit version because it does apparently have a Windows XP 32 bit support mode.

As for the availability of a 64-bit version of the Korg M3 Editor you will have to wait patiently for an answer from Korg.

I hate to be the one to say this but there is great support for 32 bit in Vista 64. Take a look at all of the programs installed in "C:\Program Files (X86)\". The M3 Editor works fine on my Vista 64 Home Premium laptop. Where did this ugly rumor begin anyway?

I do, however, hate Vista 64 for other reasons. -Mike

You can also try Jbridging the 32-bit VST editor on a 64-bit host.

Hi Mike,

Can you provide details of how to install the M3 Editor under Vista 64 so that it works? Is there a special "trick" needed to get it to run in 32 bit emulation mode?

I installed Snow Leopard and the midi data is sent to the mac fine but the M3 wont read the midi data sent back to it. I've tried a few things to fix this with no luck at the moment

Obviously this is a problem when you program sequence data into your DAW for playback.

Please ignore my last post. I was having a 'stupid' moment when I thought I updated the M3 to 2.0.4, turns out I didn't. When I did the install this morning the M3 started working perfectly again! Happy days.

Good luck. I am hearing a lot of issues with the Snow Leopard on other programs and plug-ins as well. I'm sure, the techs are scrambling to get this issue fixed.

Rob,
I don't remember doing anything special to install the editor, but if Vista kicks back and gives you a choice to install with the recommended settings, try it. That's when it should install in the 32 bit mode.

Korg utilities are a lot more robust than M-Audio (formerly MIDIman) drivers, which do not and probably never will support Vista 64.
