Dumb It Down Please

Post by ruiner28 »

I just got an electribe esx1 and am not understanding how to record a brand new pattern. I have read and re-read the instructions but still can't seem to figure it out. I have tried to record with a pattern selected as the instructions say but I end up just playing with the original pattern. is there anyway I can delete a pattern and go to the sample banks and put my own drum kits together from the electribe samples and put together my own keybooard parts and save the whole package as my own pattern...can someone please explain how to create my own original patterns because the instruction booklet isn't quite cutting it. Thank you for any assistance provided.

Hit Shift + Clear Pattern (step 8 ). Then hit Write. you now have a blank pattern. It will erase the one that was there, so be sure you don't want it.

Thanks for the assistance but I already know how to delete a pattern but how do I go into the ESX preloaded samples and and load them so I can make my own kits to create original pieces? I want to be able to create a blank pattern then go into the preloaded ESX samples and pick a hi hat, snare, kick drum and make my own drum kit then go into the keyboard part and pick a bass and a lead and compose my own pieces then save them....is that even possible?

of course. once you've cleared a pattern, simply select the part you wish to edit (say, Drum Part 1) press the Part Edit key (below the LCD), and use the data wheel to select the sample you wish to apply to that part (for example, a kick drum). now select Part 2, and repeat the above steps, choosing a different sample (maybe a snare). repeat for each part you wish to reassign.

(also, if you haven't done so, be sure to turn off Memory Protect, located within the Global menu.)
