Zero4 Owners.......Please Help?!?!

Post by risquedj »

Ok, so I've owned my Zero4 since they were first released, just over 2 years now. The question I have is, do the 'Record Outs' on the mixer output a really low signal? I get decent levels when hooking my M-Audio Microtrack II to the 'Booth Outs', but horribly low output from the 'Record Outs'. I want to know if everyone experiences this, or if it's yet another thing that solidifies the fact that I got one of the lemons.

I've had issues with the mixer freezing upon start up.

I've had issues with channels set to MIDI showing audio passing through via the PFL meters.

I've had issues with the sampler not syncing to the beat regardless of whether the tempo is matched exactly or not.

When I first bought it, I had EXTREME issues with heat retention.

The first time I turned it on, the whole machine emitted a 'burnt plastic' odor, that continues to this day (though not as profound).

I have issues with the mixer becoming randomly non-responsive.

Unfortunately, I was one of the saps who payed over $1,200.00 for this thing, only to have the price drop to $700.00, further devaluing my investment. Thanks for having me waste $500.00, Korg.

I mean, I have had many, many issues with this mixer since purchasing it, but DAMN if it's not the most comprehensive, fun, and tactile, mixer I've ever had the pleasure of mixing on (that is when it's working)

I just want this this thing to work as it should. If it did, it would be the BEST mixer on the market.......... Screw you Korg!

YOU HAVE THE WORST PRODUCT SUPPORT OF ANY COMPANY I'VE EVER DEALT WITH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Y'ALL NEED TO LEARN BY RANE/SERATO'S EXAMPLE........Best in the Industry......period!

DO A F%CK*NG RECALL ALREADY. If Ford & Chevrolet can do recalls of entire models of cars, I'm sure you can recall a mixer you've clearly screwed up on!!

So will Y'all please answer my question regarding the 'Record Out' issue?

I'd certainly appreciate it.

yes the rec out is a lot lower that the master & booth outs.
the master & booth operate at +4 db and the rec out at -10 db.
stupid really.
its just a case of turning up the recording source.
as for the burning smell issue ive never experienced that.
it has frozen on me once or twice but only ever when connected to my pc.
so it was prob not just the mixer.
its a fairly reliable mixer IMO but yes, korgs support is s**t.
i mailed them about an issue i had and never received a response.
love the mixer tho :D

as for the heat issue make sure u leave a bit of breathing space to the sides of the mixer. think theres vents there.
