BPM and ableton Issue

Post by boomsnap »

I like to plugin drum machines into my kp3 then externally syncing Ableton with my Kp3's bpm.

It's quite useful but I have a problem, whenever I scroll through effects and i stumble across the few effects that dont do anything unless you are actually touching the pad ( Such as SMP. effects ) theres no problem with the actual use of these effects but whenever I return to the other effects, the bpm with ableton is still syncd, but measures Ive created in ableton are no longer perfectly in sync, the bpm is still the same, but the measures in ableton fall off , for example 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.4 . 1.1 on ableton's measures might start out on 1.3 on the kp3 insteas of 1.1 how it was prepared for.

I have a found a small solution, which is actually hitting stop on ableton and then waiting for the beginning of the measure on the kp3 to line up and then triggering ableton's Play. but it is not accurate and kind of defeats the purpose of having the whole bpm counter in sync.

So my question is, how do I fix this, i could just avoid running into those effects but it seems kind of hard doing so at times on the fly.

I am very grateful for all future helpful Posts! Thank you very much!

Are you recording directly into ableton or with something else then dragging the audio samples into ableton?
