Follow the instructions in the .zip package you downloaded.

"Press the [Cancel] button on the “Found New Hardware Wizard” window seen above.
(Please ignore the warning messages that may appear on the taskbar.) Then press
the [OK] button on the following dialog window to complete the Cancel procedure."

Then it's straight forward after that

Hey thanks man really appreciate the reply, but I had followed the instructions which I believe are based on updating with xp, and when I cancel the new hardware wizard it just says that the driver was not installed, the new hardware wizard screen is different in vista then in xp, thanks in advance for any help!

Also when I install the driver from the CD I recieved with the KP3 and the one you download from there site it installs find, but this is seperate from updating, I also deleted the old drivers to start fresh with the update

No worries, yeah the best thing to do is to get it all direct from Korg's website.

I'm on vista myself, but i found it to be pretty much the same as xp.

I origionally couldn't find my kp3 to update the drivers, then i realised i was using a midi to usb cable instead of a standard usb cable!

So when the new hardware wizard pops up in vista after turning on the KP3 what did you click? Locate and install driver or just cancel? When I click locate it brings me to insert a cd and when I cancel it just quits the setup and the driver doesn't install lol, I'm using the pack directly provided from Korgs site ughhh lol, thanks again

You press cancel on that one for the driver,

Then press
the [OK] button on the other dialgoue window that says 'please finnish the hardware wizard'

Then it will say press 'OK' to install driver.

hey man when i press cancel on the hardware wizard that pops up it just says driver was not successfully installed, wizard canceled by user no other window that the instructions speak of pops up

This is exactly what pops up on my screen, also when i go into the kp3 0200 updater folder and click the kp3 updater it says this application cant run under x64, so i go into the update folder and click the file KP3_updater and that gray screen pops up, thanks!

Hmm, this is a long shot,

but right click on 'KP3Updater.exe', and set it to run in windows xp - under compatability.
And also click run program as admisitrator.

Ok first off the install wizzard is popping up because you don't have any drivers installed, in the start menu locate the korg usb midi drivers tools install and install that......when that is installed restart the computer, after restarting go to the control panel and select device manager, then select sound video and game controlers, locate the KP3 and make sure the drivers installed are the KORG drivers in the drop down menu, NOT drivers provided by microsoft, if they are microsoft, update drivers and select locate on my computer, brose, and select the proper drivers.

after completing that, hold down the sample + c = d buttons and power on the kp3 the display will show some leters (I don't exactly remember the letters, but this in un-important) then update the software the same way you have been doing it......this time the updater should show current software version and needs to be updated to 2.0 update the software.....when it is done the KP3 will say END and you must disconect it from the coputer.

Next.....install the updated KP3 Editor..
