PCG files

Post by Run »

Quote from Scrap on Karma-lab forum:
"Here is the PCG as requested. If loaded completely, it will overwrite program bank E and combi bank D. The E program bank is totally stock up to E095. Custom programs start at E096 and are used in some of the Bank D combis."

How is it possible to load single program or combi from a downloaded PCG file without overwriting complete bank? How do I open single program after downloading his PCG file?

Run,

Simple. Open the Prg file, and you will see the list of programs, select "open", choose where you want it stored, and change the name if you wish, hit save..

Mike

PS. A short cut: Save the current program bank to the card. Open the new bank, then open the last bank on top of this bank, make sure "append" is not checked. It will over-write with your original stuff only on the ones you changed..

To clarify, when you Open a PCG you'll see a list of folders named:

Programs
Combinations
Global

PCG, get it?

Open the Programs folder and you'll see a new list of folders called:

INT-A
INT-B
INT-C
etc.

Open one of those folders and you'll see the list of individual Programs. Highlight one and it will play live on your keyboard - a cool Korg feature allowing you to audition sounds from the disk/media.

Now you can load that one Program and choose where to load it into.

Same thing for Combinations as long as they don't require some custom Programs that may be included in the given PCG file.

Enjoy.

Thanks, after reading your replies everything is working fine and what I was surprised and happy, is that you don't have to load a program in media mode to test it, you just play to hear it ....cool . :P
