I sent my Pa1x pro back to Korg abot 2 weeks ago, in an original box (Thanks Chris!)
Repair quote arrived today
either masked rom problem (4x £4.26)or tone generator ic. (£42.55)
Korg service repair (2.5x£60.00=£150.00) carriage @£15.00 (all + vat)
=£258.28 inc vat.
This is worst case scenario, it may not need either rom chips or tone generator ic.
I'm going ahead as for me, it's still a viable proposition to get this fixed.
Pa1Xpro sound problem update

Tommy. I can tell you that the Korg guys at Milton Keynes are very helpful. I met some of them when my Pa1x gave major problems. Unfortunately mine had to go back 3 times before it was finally sorted. There was no extra charges when it had to go back as Korg guarantee the initial fix. Luckily I live near to Milton Keynes.
When things go wrong we have to get them sorted so I rekon your decision is the only one that makes sense. Good luck. I hope the Korg guys sort your problem out.

Ouch! But as you say, worth it to get the beast running well again.
Similar for me in the last few days, Power supply on PC failing, hard drive filling up rapidly, so what to do, buy a new PC or repair?
As the PC is only two years old, went for the latter.
(I did add more RAM at the same time mind, good outcome!)
Best wishes
Chris
