Pad sustain

Is there are way to sustain a pad sound without keeping it pressed down?

Yes there is, but you need to not think about the pads on their own. If you make the connection that the pads play notes (or groups of notes = chords) on the keyboard, then you realise you can use karma to achieve this like you find in many combis.

I think the problem is here that the M3 sends some controller data only on the global channel and personally, I consider it quite limited. If you use a sound on a different midichannel than the global, and assign it to the pads, the sound/timbre will not respond to sustain.
There is a way to set the pads to receive controller data in the global mode to a midichannel between 1 and 16. So, it can be done. Unfortunately, there is no option to select all.
