bagpipes

Post by keith-helen »

I have been trying to import the bagpipes from my i30 (which came from the i3)

If anyone is interested I re - created the sound. I am sure it could be improved on . Anyway this is how I did it, please follow and use.
PA 800
Copy all info first

in sound mode open bank 12 (woodwind) tab 6 -1 BagpipeGM, copy to a user bank of your choice. give name, say NEW BAGPIPES.
Press menu then press tab OSC basics. make sure radio button is in osc1 on the right hand side of the screen. Look at top left and under HIGH change the prog to 40 harpsicord. Then below this under Low change to 36 Clav 1.
put radio button in osc 2 and repeat the above.
Go to corner drop down menu and highlight WRITE SOUND

Go back to main sound page and press menu - effects
Change FX1 TO 26 Stereo chorus and FX2 to 70 Reverb Hall
go to menu - filter radio button in OSC 1 and in Filter A change freq to 58 and resonance to 0
Put radio button in OSC 2 and change Filter A to freq 58 and resonance to 7

Press exit, SAVE and try. I may be doing things not quite right and maybe you can improve but please try.

Best wishes (my fingers now hurt from all this typing)

Keith: I am a BIG fan and user of bagpipes (Balkan style -> gajda). I will try to do what you said. If you have the .PRG for me already with some bagpipes I will be very happy.

I must say that the Korg bagpipes (which I turned into a more realistic MONO sound) are totally flabbergasting. I cannot believe how authentic it sounds. I am so happy with these two bagpipes.

There is no other keyboard to my knowledge with such perfect bagpipes.

I wonder how good yours is.

Thanks again :)

Hey gang,
Please tell me how to play the bapipe sound...which note(s) do you hold down for background while you play the meleody?

Thanks,
Lee

Keith, my congratulations to you on your bagpipes sound.

It is very sweet and smooth sound. Also very well explain, step by step, as it should be. Take note some of you "Maestros"

No doubt that a lot of musicians will make a use of it, as there are not a lot of Bagpipes sounds around to choose from.

Keep it coming man, I will be waiting for them.

Thank you

Juan

Maybe this could help, if the melody is in major chord try the first root note below the range you play, and if its minor try with root or the fifth (if it's a minor try A or E)

I play it just the gajda-part (front part) so not the bass pipes. I do not like that and it is not needed for Balkan music.

I can play the bagpipes and save it on youtube if people want to see it ? Or make an MP3 if you want ?

Please tell me what you prefer.
