Microkorg Power Problem

Post by rcazzy »

Hi, I'm new here to the forums and synthesizers in general. I recently bought a Microkorg as my first and have encountered a problem.
I ordered the MK online from America, new.
My father recently plugged in the Microkorg with a different power cable and the unit powered up then immediately cut off. Now, when I try to turn the MK on with the KORG plug and adaptor, it does not work. I've tested with batteries too but all I get is the Audio IN lights going on then fading.

I was thinking if it is the power supply, could I repair it at all, whether on my own or with a local repairs person?

microKorgs are very touchy when it comes to power supply.

so you ordered it from the US do you have non-US plugs/voltage?

if so sadly your microKorg is destroyed most likely, repairs are not worth the trouble for a $400 synth.

good luck
