Damper pedal problem

Post by johnno »

Prior to OS2 I could reverse the polarity of the damper pedal as shown in the PA800 manual page 212...under Global/Controllers.
I now find this option is no longer there after OS2...I have continuous sustain unless I hold the damper pedal down.
What have I missed?

GLOBAL mode
Menu
Controllers
Select "Calibration" for he damper pedal
Follow the on screen instructions

(It asks you to press pedal down, then release - the calibration will reverse the polarity correctly)

This seems to have changed in OS2 and now shows "pictures" on the screen instead of the "polarity" option - but hey - it does work

SEE PAGE 13 of the OS 2.0 Upgrade manual - shows you how to do it there....

Let me know how you go...

Cheers

Thanks Pete....but still no go. I had the pedal lead in the DAMPER socket prior to OS2 & that was fine.
The OS2 manual says stick it in the ASSIGN PEDAL socket, so I did and followed the instructions.
I kept getting an error message saying: OUT OF RANGE, TRY AGAIN
So went thru the procedure again and again in both sockets... no result
Any clues?

Aha!! The manual only talks about assignment pedal and not the damper - I kinda see your confusion..

Trust me, your damper pedal must be in the damper socket - otherwise you may well get an error.

Try it again in the damper socket and all will work OK (remember to press the calibration button for the Damper pedal)

OK Pete...do you hear the sound of pennies dropping? What I did not do was to hold the pedal down while I clicked on push.
Don't the authors of these manuals realise that some of us are not very bright? Ask me to find a F#aug with a flattened 9th= no problem.
Anyway thanks for your help
