attaching a mic to the pa800

Post by Saseptim »

Hi, if I want to attach a regular dynamic xlr mic to my pa800, do I just need a simple xlr to 1/4" converter or do I need transformer to change the impedance?

Thanks, Avi

I haven't attached a mic to my keyboard yet, but i don't remember if I've seen a phantom power option. So if your mic requires that, you might have to go through a mixer first.

Hi, my mic does not require phantom power. The manual specifically states that the input does not support phantom power on its own. I simply need to know if I need a xlr to 1/4" converter or an impedance transformer (which is bigger and more costly).[/quote]

I have a Shure 58 mic attached to the pa800, the original cable has XLR on mic side and 1/4 on the other side and no need for any converter.
