What does it mean when the solo button is flashing?

I just tried it on mine, and it seems that it flashes when you've transposed your pattern up or down. Basically, if I hold down the Solo button, I see transpose on the LCD, and then if I go +1 or -1 or more, the Solo button flashes.

Hmm.. That's weird. I guess my esx really is acting up. I mean, I did accidentally use the transponse while I was soloing but then I got out of it by changing pattern and coming back to the pattern to the last saved state. But then at some point, I noticed that the solo button was flashing in all the patterns, even ones I've never used the transpose function on.

Yes, this is quite nutty. This happened to me a while ago on my EMX, but it went away by itself after a while (a few sessions later). It's like it eventually remembered to stop the flashing.

Nope. I changed patterns without saving to undo. Restarting the machine got rid of the flashing solo button.

Found the answer in the manual.

When the solo is like that you have a Transpose enabled (sorta obvious), but to turn it off you need to set the transpose to Zero. To do this you old SHIFT-SOLO and then press keyboard keys until the display says Transpose Zero (not obvious)

You can use the arrow keys to navigate octaves.
