Supernova VS Radias

Post by mrspoon »

hey everyone im new here (just ordered the Radias r and research into that pointed me this direction) 8) just wondering if anyone has ever used a novation supernova synth before? and if they have an opinion on pros/cons of the two?

reason i ask is because i used to own one after reading so much about how amazing they are for trance sounds etc but i found it too thin and meh i dont know, just not as good as id hoped, granted my synth programming skills aren't the best in the world anyway so i was more of a preset surfer and random knob tweaker! tho i put that down to using VST's for ages and having so many cool sounds to go from straight away really, i did spend ages tweaking and fine tuning it thinking id created an amazing sound, but then i just played it through some vst's and they blew it out of the water! so ive decided to do things properly, learn about synthesis and try and fully understand how everything works and how to get the sounds i want instead of searching for presets here and there.

just the videos on youtube have shown some good sounds that i much prefer to than my supernova, id like to create some dirty drum and bass style basslines and synth erm.. yummyness too, will radias forfill my needs if i spent the time learning it properly? im not fussed about the drum sounds as i will be using an akai mpc for that stuff as i like to layer alot of samples 8)

Radias sounds

Post by SIDX8580 »

Hi the learing and practicing on the radias to creat sounds wil realy pay out
i have it for a half year now and ime realy glad i took the efort to realy get to know the synt cus now i make cool pads smoot basses and al that

i focus on trance to at the start i tougt i understud the radias because i own a micro korg man i was blown away whit the posibilities it realy takes time to understant the radias but you can make sounds in a breeze tanks to the number of knobs on the surface but hitting edit als reaveals some more functoins

if you want i can send you some presest i maked recently (the most of them are multitrimbal whit 3 or 4 diffrent sounds al focusd on trance/electro & minimal
just let me know
