emx, midi, recording gear

Post by rckandorroll »

hey everyone, i read the stickied thread about the emx and midi and what can be done with both...very helpful. but my question is regarding recording equipment. im using Cubase sx 3 and my audio interface is a mbox 2. i use my keyboard to record midi tracks and what not and it works great...can the same be done with the emx? can u record the emx drum and synth patterns into a midi track in cubase (or any software) and be able to use the drawing tool to extend notes or patterns within the midi editor of cubase?

hope that made sense

how would you do that? Because when i plug a midi cable into my emx and my mbox, the only way for me to hear emx playback is by assigning the midi track im recording a type of instrument. but when i do that, it uses notes for that instrument (for example drums and cymbals) as opposed to the sounds i'm using in my emx
