Flight case for Pa800

Post by Keenan »

When I had my Pa50 I bought a case through ebay but now I'm searching for a case for my Pa800 and I'm unable to find one. They do have one for the Pa1x but I'm afraid whether or not the Pa800 would fit in that case.

Does anybody here have any websites where I can buy a good quality flight case for the Pa800? I need to buy a case and I have to be sure that it will fit.

Thanks alot,
Keenan

Hi Keenan,

Search on Ebay for "Gator Keyboard Case". I believe the 61-note version will fit the Pa800, but do check the measurements yourself. I bought the 76-key version with wheels for my Pa1x Pro and now for the Pa2x. Although it is a soft case, there are rigid bars and very good padding straps which keep the keyboard protected in transit for car journeys. It would not be strong enough for shipping by road carier or by air.

If you need something for shipping in lorry or by air, then search Ebay for "Keyboard Flight Case". For example there is the Gator G-Tour flight case in a 61 note version, which meets ATA standards. But pricey and very heavy!

I'm asking for a flight case. Ebay has no flight case that is made for the Pa800, that's why I asked if the Pa1x case could be used. Does anybody else have any information?

Keenan,

I don't know if you intended this, but your replies seem quite abrupt and abrasive. Ppl on this forum are just trying to provide helpful information to you. An occasional "thank you" goes a long way.

Gator G-Tour 61 key keyboard flight case here:

Many other manufacturers' 61 key flight cases will fit the Pa800, just search Ebay "keyboard flight case" like I said.

No, I didn't intend that. A big thank you to all who are trying to help.

Unfortunately that case has an interior height of 6". The Pa800 is 7" high.

Hi Keenan,

Yes the Gator G-Tour is not deep enough, sorry about that. Anyway, here's some more flight cases that are definitely large enough, but to get the 7.1 inch depth "of the shelf" you have to go for a case for 76 key kbds:

Gator GK-276-DEEP

OSP Deluxe ATA Flight Case
http://cgi.ebay.com/OSP-DELUXE-ATA-ROAD ... dZViewItem

Then there is this very nice., more lightweight SBC case which it says internally is 7 inch height. You would need to check whether the joystick from the Pa800 would be OK - you might be able to remove a little foam padding,

There are also several businesses who will make a custom flight case to your exact measurements, these are some in the UK, I'm sure you will find other manufacturers in USA and elsewhere:

Just wanted to post an update on the situation. I received my case today and it's perfect. It's a case for the KORG PA1X from www.casekits.com (also known as Hybrid Cases), but my PA800 fits perfectly. I picked a Level 3 case because of the foam lining and the larger aluminum. It's really good, and I recommend it.

I had my brand new Pa800 shipped to me inside a Gator GK261R ATA flight case, and it arrived in perfect condition from NY to CA.

Indeed the official internal Gator case hight is 6" and the Pa specs say 7.1", however it fits the board like a glove as the internal measures start from the flexible thick sponge layers that will easilly absorb the 1" difference.

What I can not explain is how the extarnal GK hight in the specs is 7.0" which should be shorter than the Pa, however check the pic for yourself.

Do those flight hard cases actually protect the keyboard? I'm talking about some of you gigging musicians who have to fly all the time. Ever had a broken keyboard, broken keys, or whatever, even though it was in a hard case? I can just imagine who those cases get tossed on the ground.
