what to do ??!!

Post by tamimg »

Hello dear friends,

there is this terrible thing huppened to my board today (pa800), was wondering if u guys could come up with a solution other than what i already tried.

The mono jack of my earphone broke into the earphone output of the board, and the very first part of the jack stuck into it, this means i cant insert any other jack into the slot and also this mutes my speakers as well. So basically i can't use the board at all...

i used a tiny tweezer to take the thing out of it, but didnt help much, cuz it's stuck really tight in there. i thaught of opening the board myself and see if i can do anything.. but thats to risky since its still in guarantee and i have no experience in doing so...

i'll appreciate any medical suggestion to this problem.. worries me abit :? :?...

thanks in advance

paramedics on the way...
:)

get a long screw the kind that is used in wood with sharp needle tip , stick it in there, just like when you meet a V for the 1st time, carefully turn it, until the screw is stuck in the back of the jack (qandaari style..lol) and then pull it out slowly !!!

good luck !!

OK, Here we go... My suggestion is:
Get a small piece of wood or metal, VERY CAREFULLY put a VERY small amount of epoxy on it (5 minute kind at hardware store) stick it to the broken off part stuck in the board. When it cures (very cured) gently pull it out. It is important to hold it still while it sets.

Be very careful to not slop the epoxy where it doesn't belong. I am talking about using a pencil lead size drop of epoxy.

Also, you might be able to use wax paper or suran wrap around the broken off piece inside or the tool you are making so you do nt get epoxy in the wrong spot??? Wow, hope that makes some sense.

All I can think of at the moment. If I think of another idea I'll post it.

Qader jan thanks for the erotic tip...lol

however, the broken part into the output has also the pin into its hole, which means i cant insert a screw or any other object... so am still hanging ...:? if u have any other tip, i'll be glad to follow it..many thanks

As for Lee's tip, i dont have epox ready at home, i'll try to get the 2moro and follow your tip ..seems a good idea.

i appreciate ur time and tips friends,
thankss

tamimg,
My idea may work but only if you can get a superb glue hold on the piece you are removing.

One other idea is to drill a small hole in the part, then use a screw, easy out (a special tool at hardware stores) or something to get a hold of it and get it out...Don't know if it will work in this case... maybe the part is a very hard steel and will be hard to drill?

I think in the end you may need to open the keyboard up to get the plug out.
Good Luck,
Lee

One other question/idea...
If the pin (mono headphone plug) sticks out any at all... you might try buying a very high quality needlenose pliers. If you can get ahold of it well enough it may work.

my next tip would be to get a ,Eyebrow Tweezer ..stick in there and pull it slowly out ...

or a small springs, the kind that is used with writing PENs....stck it in there and keep turning it, till its stuck in back of the jack and pull slowly..
