I do not think so...

Really hoping for a ESX/EMX box w/ 8 note polyphoney, twice the pads and a decent card reader + USB and another audio IN!!! Hahah... (i know thats what mixers are for...)

Yummie..a new Electribe would be so sweet.
I hope that lovely sampling vocoder/formant motion stuff on the Radias is on the next 'tribe 8)
*I am also v-much hoping for a rethink on the simplifying/improving of the shoogling around of pattern data stuff too
(kind of like a cross between an Alesis MMT8/Yammie RS7000/Akai MPC and KORG Esx/MX)
- to include merge data/chop'n'join/re-arrange data (not bloody asking for much, eh? ).

I know some may say I should just go back to using Cubase but maybe a cool new Mini Monitor Computer Style Sequencer Edit Screen on a new Electribe 'could' be possible, (like on the Akai MPC's, no?)...
especially with myself and many other folkies I know being v-pissed about being ripped off on the 2nd last 2 MPC's having dodgy parts/software...

Who knows, a brand new, simplified ESX/MPC style sampler/synth made by Korg could help KORG blow Akai away in this area!)
Sorry in advance to people who still like AKAI
(but perhaps, who, unlike me did not waste £3000 on MPC's only to have no luck getting a refund or a replacement OS from my local store or AKAI, even with receipts+within 2 weeks of purchase :x ...and please dont mention the JJ software  ).

hope I don't offend anyone but this is kind of like praying to god and waiting for a prayer to be answered.... it will either happen later or won't happen at all

the bottom line is, it won't happen just because we talk about it on *UNOFFICIAL* forums for korg.... sure there are a c ouple korg employees that roam here but even if they saw it it wouldn't change anything. Bottom line is, it might happen, i t won't happen soon.

My attitude is not to hope but to stop wasting our times and having wet dreams during the day about a new machine where we could be using what we've got and making music in the mean time.

If you're bored play with something else ;)

cheers

I've changed my opinion on this matter. I think they are going to do at least one more. The sx and mx are still catching on and even though korg has bigger markets, its still a decent on eand they know that. If they can make a new box that is competitive with others, in features and pricing they'll do good for one last line of electribes.

A friend of mine on the yahoo electribe list said that the guy that has demoed the electribes before at trade shows spilled some beans about a new one in the works. He tried to find the post but couldn't. Anyone have any info on this?

Either way whether someone said something or not (which i would image is not true since doing so could get someone in trouble). BUt after the latest mpc thats come out, and the rogerlinn/dave smith machine, i'm pretty sure korg will offer at least one more. The development of the kaossolator adds to the fact that i think they'll do one more.

Think about how long the ms2000 was around before the radias came about. And just now they came out with a soundset that mimics the ms2000's sound on the radias. Not to mention the radias was based on the ms2000/oasys, which the ms2000 was based on the ms10,20,50 style analogs from back in the day. So korg doesn't forget their previous products. I think there will be a more definite and obvious end to the electribe line when they do something like incorporate the electribe interface into a 2,000 dollar workstation and that's that.

I bet next year at namm they'll announce they're working on something. It's a tough market to keep up with.

One thing i've thought about though in addition to the other stuff i'd like added would be a nice well implemented master multi band compressor. That would really help with doing everything inside the box without the aide of software. If they had it set to master where you could either have it affect globally like that, or load individual settings per patch and have a switch to where you could keep it in global at all times if you wanted.

I agree TOTALLY mangle' !!
Pretty much word 4 for aswell ... but , ruso is right tho this kinda thing pops up ALL the time . I'm 99% sure it will happen but until some sort of REAL info/rumour comes to light ( yeah , i'm hoping that your friend is holding something of substance manglebox :) ) PLEASE no more asking of this ... as soon as any hard info comes along someone will post it quicker than a gunshot and we'll all know bout it

til then we gotta just be happy with what we have .

The key thing with electribes is that you only get out what u put in ... its only HOW u put it in !!
If u cant get over a wall get around it

hopefully next time someone posts here it will be a HAPPY occasion lol , rather than a let down

Of course that this has been spoken several times, but you have to ask to know. If you don't ask, you don't get an answer.

At least we don't have an "We aren't working on that" official answer, so that keeps the possibility open for a new 'tribe.

It seems they are releasing electribes every 4 years or so, so it must be around time.
