PA2Xpro

Post by jckeeys »

I will be picking up mine tomorrow. I am a (now) former Tyros2 owner. On another forum they say many have grown "Quickly" tired of this KB and dismissed it!!! I had a PA1Xpro when it was first introduced I did not like some operational aspects and sold it. The PA2Xpro has solved those issues for me and I am very excited about getting it. I have been a member here since my PA1X days but have not posted since then

Need some positives!!

I too had a tyros 2 and moved over to the PA2x, I know it was the right choice, but to everone they have thier own feelings and thoughts on this. I cant even imagine after using the 6 octaves going back to 61 keys. I know the programmers will say its all in the setup, but there are many times when the lowest and highest notes can make the difference to an arrangement on the fly. I love my pa2x, and i think that Roland, Yammy's and Ketron will have a fight on thier hands to get me away from it. So overall this is good for the industry and should provide the competition to develop better keyboards. Manfucturers have got to stop classing pro keyboard arrangers as toys, because they have come of age, and many muso's world wide derive not only pleasure, but a living from the great improvements that have been made partriculary with the PA2X Pro. So congrats on the choice and i hope like me you will see the great benefits in making the change that you have.
Making music is a passion, not a choice of lifestyle

Robkeith and jckeeys, I'm a member of the same club you belong to. That is I'm a former Tyros2 owner. The PAx2xPro is the right arranger for me. Doesn't matter whether anyone else at any other forum cares for it or not. Most important though is my audiences like what they hear as well and the PA2xPro is doing that. 8)

Hi, I also owned a Tyros2 (and a E80). I am very pleased with the Pa2xpro. The only thing is that I have difficulty with the savings procedures. I opened a topic about this. But besides this I think for me it's the best board I've ever owned. I just use the board at home.

Ok, guys, count me in as well. My Tyros 2 sold today on Ebay and I've had the Pa2xpro for two weeks. I am thrilled with the features of the Korg. I may miss some sounds, but that is about it. The Harmonizer is wonderful, as are those sliders, and the Live sound is amazing. I actually love the styles as well.

No buyers remorse here at all.

Hi jckeeys. I thought I must have written your post. It's my story too. I am so pleased with my decision. This keyboard is awesome. I miss some of the Yamaha styles but am adapting to the Korg styles and better pads; it is hard work making the transition but the overall better sounds makes it all worthwhile.

I started off trying to recreate what I had on the Tyros. Now, I sit down with the keyboard and try to build a sound for the song with what I have. That is much more satisfying, and in the end I am creating a better result.

Exchanget my G-70

Post by jkd »

After 2½ years of hard work i exchanged my G-70 with PA2XPRO.

Live I always use 2 keyboards. I have an old SD1 which is my workhorse
"until now" The G-70 I used to much time on and newer got i right.
When i played the SD1 and after that played the G-70 the dynamic
direct compared was so poor "Even after OS3" that it was unusable...

I have now had the PA2XPRO out on 3 live jobs and it works. No
problems at all and very great live sound. I´ve got 16 songs ready
on the PA2 and they more than equals my beloved SD1....
I use the pads for variation and this is so great.... I´ve never owned
a Korg arranger before WHY ???

It looks like Korg have musicians in mind in a lot of ways...
In the Roland arranger forum we newer heard from Roland....
We apparantly do here GREAT......

I've had one for a couple of days now that I am attempted to review, I'm completely new to professional arranger keyboards and have been swamped by the features in the Pa2X.

Fortunately the Pa2X doesn't want to be complicated and doesn't need to be. I keep finding a pre-set style that I enjoy and end up spending hours playing it.

I will readily admit that I am out of my depth, but you don't learn to swim by standing in shallow water and watching.

All the recording functionality sails gracefully over my head but I believe I will get my head around it- having spent many months doing the same on the Roland Fantom X.

Time for a cover to cover read of the manual, I think.

I almost couldn't believe my ears when I heard the sampled damper pedal .... wow, it pretty much defines the phrase "attention to detail".
