KP3 and Micro-X

I was wondering if any of you have found creative ways to use KP3 with other synths, in my case I have Korg Micro-X. One thing I would love to be able to do is to program drum patterns on Micro-X and trigger them via KP3 in the same way DRM1 is controlled on the KP3 - sweeping the finger on the pad adds layers to the loop. I know Micro-X has the ability to trigger patterns in layers by pressing more keys at the same time to trigger higher notes in the pattern, so that gives me hope...
