Sounds good! It would be cool if you could record comparisons of the same song with and without the new tubes :)

So where did you get the new tubes anyway?

ya, that sound really really good. I would also like to know where you got the tubes, the type, and any other info on them so I don't make a mistake purchasing the wrong ones.

thanks!

yup, sorry. just noticed it. you don't have to call someone a newbie though, just supply the information and we'll learn to look on our own from then on.

thanks for the demo of the new tubes reddone, you've inspired me to buy 4 of them for both my SX and MX. I'll upload a demo of my own once i get them.

[First mix]

I can hear the difference straight away.A lot smoother.I tend not to use the osc waveforms because of the squeaky metallic sound you mentioned.Yeah much better. For somethng you did in 10 minutes thats impressive.Guess i'm gonna have to get me some tubes :D

I'll have a listen to the other mix tomorrow..

Cheers reddone!

Yeah mate , the general tone is much smoother/richer but as u'll hear in mix 2 , the tubes can also rip it right up . No drive was added on the filter section , only tube gain .

great stuff Reddone.

this has got me wondering about all sort of other tubes....

for example, for £3 more a tube, I wonder what these :

Guess the idea is to find out...! :D

Yeah i been looking at all sorts at watford valves too . The guy who runs the place uses mostly groove tubes but also sovtek , these two he recommends most . Im gonna get some sovteks next week , im into this tube tones thing now . Diffrent tubes/tones 4 different styles/sounds i reckon maybe .

If u can , try out some varying tubes guys . Get what suits YOU most i'd say
