IS IT A LEMON?
A few Pa800 owners have experienced big problems with the reliabilty of this keyboard. On an earlier subject 'Pa800 USB" I asked members who own one of these and have had no major problems to let us know and thus reassure the few who are having doubts about the Pa800's reliability.
The "Pa800 USB" site had over 800 hits and no replies confirming that the keyboard is reliable and has not given any major problems.
If it had been the Pa1X, the site would have been swamped with replies praising the board.
So come on guys let's have some feed back on the PA800.
IS IT OR IS IT NOT A LEMON?
Cheers, Jurone

Re: IS IT A LEMON?
Hi Jurone,
I've only had mine for about 3 months.
Did the 1.50 & 1.51 upgrades.
So far running beautifully.
Only time I ran into a bit of a problem was with a possibly badly formatted usb stick, which after reformatting is working well.
Also had a hassle with a couple of the styles on the Korg PA site in the PA800 Bonus collection. Keyboard crashed.
I haven't loaded samples except for a few audio drum loops .
I also haven't loaded any user styles except for stuff I put together myself.
So far , so good. Luv it.

I had mine and i sold it, not cuz i had problems but i didnt need it.
What i noticed is that the PA800 even though is one of the best KORG
machines that came out MONEY/VALUE at the same time it is not one
but KORGs LEAST RELIABLE MASHINE...the worst...it had more complains
any other instrument in KORG industry which makes PA800 the LEAST
RELIABLE INSTRUMENT on the market today which 1 in 3 has a factory
DEFECT in it and has to be returned. VERY SAD!

Its not a Lemon
Hi,
Having my board for almost a month and have nothing to my credit to load on my machine, so far it has only been a joyride & nothing else. The Pa800 is a great machine to work with. Though still have a long way to go with it but my initial analysis is a good 1. Im still reluctant to load any stuff in my Pa800 but I will surely test it with that as well. I hope that all goes well in the time to come. Having experience that Nedim had, being one of those who had a comprehensive command over this board, I'm still pretty confused whether to use this machine in full throttle or not. By the way, just want to ask 1 thing. Will a virus infected USB infect or affect my board & if yes than in what way?

Hey Nedim,
Are you making these statements based on factual data ? If not, then as a friend I advise you to delete this statement because it could get you into a lot of trouble - for example if Korg were to decide to sue you. It also worries me that you may also drag this forum into disrepute.
Best regards,
Rob

I was the second in Canada to get this instrument, I know this for a fact
. Never, ever, had any serious problems with this amazing aranger and I have used every function that it offers.
The only time you will encounter problems is if you load an PA1X Set, or a Set by the owner that did not follow any rules while creating that Set, then unexpected results will occur.

Brothers, with all due respect to all of you in here, very smart, inteligent and
experienced guys, coleagues and friends in here:
As i can see i am probably THE ONLY ONE in here that works on PA800 at
least 10 hours a day every day but thats not it, i know for a fact that i am
THE ONLY ONE on here that talks to AT LEAST 10 people a day, selling
material or just giving them support...i hope you get my point...it is very rare
to find a satisfied peson with the PA800 technically, not the quality of sounds.
On the other side, i own a lot of synths and i also talk about other synths to
my customers and thats how i came up with that number and i stay behind that.
If you try and read the topics on PA800 even less then 1 in 3 are satisfactory.
It is very rare to find 2 satisfied customers a day that would say something
nice about PA800, everybody is frustrated and my self too...at least i know
the synth inside and out and probably right now there is no function on it
that i dont know what it does, i ran it thru tests, day and night, i played live
with it and many things...it is a long story.
The point of this post wasnt to SHOW OFF MY SELF who am i but i wrote
certain things so you can easily understand how come up with this cuz
thats what i do 24/7, thats how i make my living and thats how i met all
of you my friends in here...85% of the words that come out of my mouth
in a day are Music or Synth related.
Take Care

are like me and wanna measure its pulse and heardbeat it will give up.
If you just turn it on and play music you gonna be ok but if you start to
AROUSE it it might get excited a little and it can affect different areas.
One of them is that it might start MOANING or it might be TOO QUIET.
Next, no VIRUS wont affect it but corrupted files can be load it inside and
then the board starts acting funny, not deleting certain things, certain styles
being locked inside the synth and nothing would overwrite them e tc.

Listen, I really understand some people have problems with their Pa800. In fact, it's an amazing piece of technic, and as technician I know all those stuff really can bring trouble.
I'm a tweaker on everything what has knobs, sliders, displays, you name it. And my Pa800 already became victim of my tweaking, but after three months still no complaints, freezes, hickups or whatsoever, it keeps functioning fine.
Of course I believe Nedim when he says a lot of Pa800's are broken already in factory, and I also read the posts here. but can you guys imagine I'm still learning a lot when I read? Now I know pretty much what to do and what not, I read where the limitations are.
But to me it wouldn't say the Pa800 is a bad instrument! Au contrary: to me it's a wonderful instrument, and I keep being thrilled by its sound AND its capabilities!
No, it ain't a lemon to me but a sweet thing I take care of!

HI I am AVI.
Wonderful instrument !!!!
A perfect instrument with a perfect potential !!!!!
Confused ?
Do not be !!!!
For every computer software it's necessary to have time to run it !!!!!
Dos somebody do not use a computer because the "windows" update?
We have the "vista" and the update of the "xp" still caming up....[and after long years...].
There is a big diffrent between "garbage" or good instrument that needs the time that the "professional" will "tear" it, to find how to make it undefeated!!!!
I am not someone that will not say about things that I want that they will be better....[see in the forum...]
But- there is BIG diffrent between, "anger"\"self opinion" TO reality!
KORG making wonderful successful instrument, with sensible support for it!
And sensible support for the software! for the long time after that....! [remember windows?...]
It is not mean that they are "bad"- It is mean that there is a good responsible corporation behind you, and you will not "stick in" if it is not undefeated yet, or, bad than that....
Be sorry to say, from my experience, OTHER corporation are not like them! It is a fact!
I think that there problem is only with somthing else, NOT WITH THE INSTRUMENT, only with----
If there was a page in a web of KORG,
A place to report about things that seems to be "bug",
And to send request on things that we fill that they are missing to us,
[And because, that every body can read it, you will know if there was a report, and will not double it]
And KORG can see all there, [Not here....]
But the important thing will be the page that KORG will write about "bugs" or request that there going to work on them, and we all can be relaxed until the next OS,
AND will know what will not going to be happen [-request], because they did not insert that to there list.
THEN THEY WAS SAVEING ALL THAT LONG CHATS, THAT CAN CAUSE WRONG CONCLUSIONS!
FOR ME- korg and the PA800 are excellent.
[Nedim- sorry to say, but I dont have a hardware problem like you have think...],
AVI- HAPPY PA 800 USER!

In this topic so far, everyone agrees that the Pa800 is reliable and does not have major problems. Except Nedim, who has some mysterious "hearsay" evidence that we can't examine. Even Nedim apparently didn't have problems with his own Pa800, since he said:
jg::
So, if we took this topic as a "straw poll", then 100% of people responding had no problems with their own Pa800 units. That's extremely reliable!I had mine and i sold it, not cuz i had problems but i didnt need it.

Jo, yes exactly as i said, NOT CUZ OF HAVING PROBLEMS but doesnt mean
it didnt have problems, it only means that wasnt the reason i sold it.
And read my post once more again.
