1.3 install went fine for me

Post by playsynth »

Hey, with all the people having problems, I wanted to say that at least some of us had no problems. I burned the image with Nero, made sure it verified the copy, unplugged all USB devices, and booted from the CD... ta-da! 1.3 easy as 1-2-3.

Went fine for me as well...burned the update CD, and even used the "Update System Software" option to run the update (available from the Global menu if you are already running 1.2.3). Worked like a champ. Got my MOD-7 auth email shortly after the update finished installing and everything is working beautifully. 8)

Thanks Korg!

Updated without a hitch.

Thanks to everyone for putting my fears to rest!

MOD-7 is a shiny shimmering dripping-with-quicksilver beast! Love it! Don't miss my FS1R anymore!!!

...and the UI! :D :D :D
Best Regards, James

Tried to update with the "Update System Software" function. Didn't work (couldn't update kernel)! Then just rebooted from CD, update went fine and after that no reauthorization on next boot! Everything ok so far!

Many thanks to KORG! Now I'm exploring the new world! Sounds absolutely amazing!

Ditto on the SY-99...especially the UI part. Didn't have time yesterday to do much more than preset-dive and import a few DX7 sounds for fun, but I can see that MOD-7 is gonna be a serious time sink :)

I'm not getting rid of my SY-99 till I can figure out whether I can re-create some of my favorite patches in MOD-7 first!

But yeah, MOD-7 looks awesome...

hahaha nice play on words 8)

Yes, another "me too" post. 1.3 upgrade also went fine for me (though I had to take a couple of goes to get the zip file). MOD-7 sounds fantastic and is attractively priced, too. I'm asking Santa for that one. I've been a good boy. Well... mostly ;)

I initially panicked after booting 1.3 and discovered the ESx2 piano was gone... of course it had defaulted to only loading ESx1, easily fixed :)

Are we ever going to have a use for the ethernet port on the back (the one hidden behind the silver cover) ... I think it'd be funky to be able to pull a SYSEX down from the net directly on the OASYS without having to resort to this MIDI or USB drive stuff. 1993 called and wants its file transfer protocols back ;)

(btw, thanks Korg guys for a sweet instrument & everything that goes along with it, and for the support & community interaction here & elsewhere.)
