Tyros & Genos styles converted to PA5X (with MP3 Demo)

Hi,

I would like to share some movie soundtrack styles that I converted from Genos and Tyros. Maybe you already have them, maybe not...

Action Anthem (Top Gun from Genos2)
Blockbuster (Gladiator)
Choir Soundtrack (Vangelis - 1490 Conquest of Paradise)
Desert Adventure (Genos2, this one I found somewhere)
Ethereal Movie (Nice freestyle suitable for lots of songs)
Ethereal Synth (Nice freestyle suitable for lots of songs)
Movie Soundtrack (Pirates of C... , Narnia)
Transformers (not as the original but nice)
TV Blockbuster (Game Of Thrones from Genos)

There are also some quick mp3 demos.

Although they don't sound identical as in the Yamaha, most of them sound very nice and similar.

As my time is short, I didn't add the other chord variations, as I usually don't use intros and endings. Maybe I will do it soon.

I've followed the Qui Robinez procedure using Cubase and in my opinion I could give better results than using Style Works, although it takes more time to convert and tweak.

The styles can be improved of course. If anyone does it, please feel free to send me them back

I own the PA5x for about 4 months and I am still trying the effects and style adjustments.

It is also my "understanding" that you can use SampleRobot (sampling software) to sample and copy the styles from the Genos and put them into the Pa5X...?

That way they sound exactly the same...?

I'm working on other styles that I'll upload as soon as I have time to finish them.

G., samplerobot is only used to create new sampled sounds.

These latest 5 styles I converted with Styleworks and adjusted them using the internal sounds from the PA5X.

Some of the previous styles were converted from Genos 2. In this case, the only way is to use Cubase to adjust the tracks and add the markers and them import as MIDI in the PA5X, but it's more work, especially when adding the other chord variations. Some of the styles converted previously were done this way, and I didn't add the extra CVs.

Firstly, I was highly impressed with the conversion. Superb job.
Secondly, I have always found Yamaha Styles musically rich and well planned and programmed.

I would love to see more of your Genos/Tyros conversion work when you get to a point to share.

Once again, awesome job of converting Tyros styles to Korg. Thank you.

Yamaha styles have great musical content with backing tracks and choice of instrument.
I love my Pa5x and these styles sound fantastic on it. Which makes me realise Korg’s Style programmers lack the depth and versatility of Yamaha’s and 5x true potential is not realised.

I have others that I intend to convert and there are some that I'm currently working on.

When I have time to finish them and they sound nice (to my ears...) I will upload them.

I'm mainly focused in instrumental, soundtracks & new age styles that I like to play music and I miss this kind of style in the PA5X.

Besides, normal pop and rock styles with special drums and guitar are more difficult to get good resuts. Only a few of them are suitable considering my limited skills.

I agree with your statement that the PA5X still has a lot of potential to be explored, but I also believe that because this keyboard is more geared towards professional musicians, many styles and sounds seem drier than Yamaha's, but it allows more flexibility in precise adjustments with audio mixers and other equipment.

When you see comparison videos on YouTube between the PA5X and the Genos, most people say the Genos is better because it has a better sound, but I think that's mainly due to the higher reverb, which gives it a deeper sound impression.
