Hi guys, couldn’t find what I’m looking for on the internet… would welcome your thoughts…
Doing a new show which requires me to use my midi-controller keytar. I’d like to then use wireless midi between that and the Kronos…
Thoughts? Use usb midi? Anyone else looked to do this? What works?
Thanks in advance!
Chris

This is my experience. The CME WIDI devices are good enough for basic MIDI playing, but trying to use the Korg Editor software or some other sysex-heavy tool is just not possible.CliveJ wrote:I use CME WIDI devices and they work well, but I would suggest you turn off the Kronos sysex transmission - it can bring wireless midi to its knees.
I must admit I never use the editor sw - my issue with sysex is that Kronos will transmit its setup over sysex every time a prog/combi/seq is selected. CME say they have improved sysex handling but I stay away from it. Also my hydrasynth did not like receiving Kronos sysex and did some strange things. The CME WIDI devices are good enough for basic MIDI playing, but trying to use the Korg Editor software or some other sysex-heavy tool is just not possible.
… and you’re not likely to use the editor during performance, or are you? Besides, the OP was just looking at a keytar setup so it should be fine with sysex disabled.
Now let’s think of a reason why it CAN be done...
Sure, yes, for that use case it should be enough. I use the Bluetooth WIDI all the time to use the Kronos as a keyboard controller for iPad apps and it works great.CliveJ wrote: … and you’re not likely to use the editor during performance, or are you?
