Korg SG-1D - new sustain pedal.

Post by IO73 »

Hi,

I have an old SG-1D sampling grand keyboard, and the sustain pedal has stopped working. I want to replace it, but can't see anywhere where I can buy one, and wondering if anybody knows somewhere (if it's still possible)?

I'm also wondering if the sustain pedals for some of the newer keyboards would work with the SG-1D?

Very grateful for any help anyone can offer.

Which sustain pedal is currently in use? The recommended original ones are DS-1 or the PS-1. Both, I believe, are switches, so might be a simple matter to fix for someone with electronics knowledge. Most replacement footswitches should work. The DS-1H, which is a half-damper pedal, might not work, though no damage will be done by trying one. The SG-1D doesn't appear to support half damper, so a DS-1H pedal, if it works, would only give damper on / damper off.

Thanks, that's very helpful.

My current sustain pedal has no model no. on it, but it looks almost identical to the DS 1H. For my purposes it would be fine if it only gave damper on/off capabilities on the SG 1D.
So all I need to find out now is if it'll work at all. Might try and have a word with a dealer.

Thanks again!
