new kronos 2 61 owner

Post by dflan83 »

Hey Everyone,
I am a hobbyist whom enjoys synths and I wanted a desert island workstation that would do everything I needed with powerful synth capabilities.

It was between this or the new fantom and in the end I decided to go with the kronos.

I just picked up a new kronos 2 61 for a deal at 2200$ and I couldn't be happier with my purchase. So far I have only dove in AL-1 and I am trying to learn little bits of the kronos as to not get overwhelmed from using it.

There are a lot of great tips and posts here and I will be sure to return when I am in need of help.

Any best beginners tips that you guys can recommend besides read the manual

are you in the US ? always interested in factory sealed A Stock pricing.

Always back up your data

If you have power outages in your area, always use a quality power strip.
Not a cheap one.

Consider a UPS [ un-interrupted power]

Cover your 61 with a dust cover

No eating drinking or cats on your 61

Welcome!

Some tips.

Go through the video manual if you haven’t already.

Then go though all of Qui Robinez’s Kronos tutorials.

Then later go through Charles Ferraro’s channel. His videos are pretty technical. Not so much new user material. But bookmark for later.

I am located in the US.

I have been experimenting with the step seqencer in al-1 and I would like to make an effect that modulates the filter freq upon sustain.

for example say I have a nice pad sound and after x amount of seconds holding the note have a modulated filter seqence come in. Anyone know if this is possible and I suppose I could probably do this with a lfo as well

I think it can be done. Have a look at the AMS mixer in gate mode using the Amp EG as the control signal to switch between the step sequencer and a fixed value. Then use the AMS mixer to modulate filter cutoff.
