Advice for trouble shooting KORG Pa3x

Post by graphomet »

Hello Forum.

One of my band members recently purchased a second hand KORG Pa3x, and we tried to do a system restore. We downloaded the zip files from KORG support, unzipped and inserted the USB flash, and we got this message on the screen:

No Package named
Pa3X_OS_MUS.pkg OR
Pa3X_RES_MUS.pkg found in the usb device

What can cause this error, for the keyboard not to find the pkg file?

Kind regards.

Suggest you format the USB on keyboard first.
After Unzipping download...OS files need to be copied to route directory of USB.

Hi gwc, thanks for your reply.

We formatted the USB on my PC, and then drag dropped the pkg files (after unzipping) into the USB flash, then inserted it to the KORG usb slot.

Sorry to sound so novice but copying the the OS to the route directory, would that require connecting the flash USB in to the KORG USB slot and doing it from there?

Also most importantly is this a common problem, when trying to update or restore a pkg file? Or is it some sort of glitch because of a faulty component of the KORG?

Thank you.

A Factory Restore does not require any external USB flash memory. This would be the first thing to try if there are no memory corruption or incompatible data load issues.

It's done by going to Media edit mode and selecting the Factory Restore command. The restore data are already on the Pa3X.
