Need Help Determining Age & Model Of Keyboard

Post by Brassclass »

Hi - I'm new to Kronos keyboards and have ran across a used one I am very interested in. The model is "Kronos2-88" serial # "201209". Can anyone please tell me if this is the latest version of the 88 key model and if so, what is it's age? Also if it's not the latest version, what is the difference in this board and the latest? I'm trying to determine if this board is a good deal or should I spend more and go for a new one. All comments greatly appreciated!

There's a thread over on Karma Labs forum where people are posting serial numbers for their Kronii.

Check the Time line section of this webpage:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Korg_Kronos

The Kronos 2, Kronos Gold, Kronos LS and Kronos 2 SE are all considered by Korg to be "on Sale" i.e. current, whilst the Kronos (original), Kronos X, and Kronos Platinum, are listed as "discontinued products".

All excellent, in terms of their capabilities. The original Kronos had the smallest capacity SSD and RAM amount, and the K2 has a newer, slightly faster motherboard.

The Kronos 2 SE (red coloured body) is the latest, and introduces the Italian Grand piano to the Kronos line, but this piano is also purchasable as a sound pack from the Korg Shop.

Likely during the first semester of 2015. See this as another reference :

Its no older than 2015.

The SE and LS are more recent.

You should ask what ver OS is on the K2.

You should ask your seller for details- like his purchase receipt.

Lets assume its 3 years old. Its more important for you to discover if this K2 has been knocked around.

That determination is far more important than chronological age.
