HELP .SNG file unavailable

Post by Geoff Flynn »

Been saving .SNG files on OASYS for years without a problem. Tonight tried to load a SEQ (.SNG) file and OASYS saying "file unavailable".

Last saved this file a couple of days ago.

Also tried copying it to Kronos 2 and getting the same message.

I presume the file is corrupted (very disappointing if it is as a lot of work in there).

Anyone know of a way to interrogate / fix?

Any thoughts much appreciated.

Geoff.

Not sure what happened. I usually save to 2 places, in case the drive ever fails. Have you ever backed up to a USB drive? Are you able to navigate into the folder, using the OPEN button? If so, you could get songs out one at a time.

Hi Mike. I will save to 2 places from now on. I had luckily backed up to external HDD about 8 days previously but only so I could load Oasys sounds to Kronos 2. But obviously lost all the editing done in the meantime.

Tried to open file to extract individual songs but got the same message - file unavailable.

Sent SNG file to Korg UK Support and they will look at whether it is possible to recover.

Thanks,

Geoff.
