he told me that Yamaha would have some surprises for everyone at Musikmesse...

-Tyros 4 rack
-Tyros 4 pro with 76 keys

-Cubase based studio workstation with buildin cubase and VST support... Including a hardware upgrade program for the future...
-VST version of the MOTIF XF, even works with the KARMA software
-VST versions of many of their previous synths
-VSTversion of Tyros 4
-Everything else needed to build your own dreamsystem.

-Modular solo synth with all possible synthesis engines that lets you combine building blocks of the different engines in a modualr sense...

Everyone must be prepared to be surprised in Frankfurt.... :P
Feck, I'm left wondering what bit of information he didn't give you regarding the "surprise" after reading all that.

Sharp.

The surprise would be something we can only dream about......

Tough seriously, as long as yamaha doesnt take its customers serious and starts building the innovative stuff people want there is allways the chance of them loosing their crown to an other company.

i know yamaha could build the stuff i made up, but they wont untill they realise it is to late and they lost their leading position to a company that is developing innovative stuff.

They have lost already. Roland lost quite some time ago.

While it's true that Roland has managed to be even more ho-hum than Yamaha over the past decade, I still have to have some of their gear around. I've grown addictive to their saxes and strings. And I know you software guys are probably tired of me saying this, but you just can't get some of these sounds on other stuff.

Long live all these guys!

I do agree, i wouldn't want to miss my fully loaded XV 5080, despite all the softsynths that cover the same range of sounds... And my V-synth is actually a beast still unmatched by anything but Oasys...

With my long time Roland back ground i think its sad to see that Roland probably has left the top segment of both Synth and Arranger keyboards...

Both V-synth and the latest Fantom got them a net loss, but they seem to forget that much of the development could repay itself when they use those new techniques in lower range products...

Roland director Benelux stated that we should not expect any new top of the line arrangers/workstations or an updated V-synth...

Roland keys is concentrating on digital Piano's as that is wher the money currently is, it takes way less development to create a good home piano then it takes to create a topline synth.

This post was entirely made up, for those that didn't think it was obvious.... point is this post has allready been quoted twice in other forums and started some discussions overthere, all i was trying to show is what Yamaha would be capable off, but what they do not do, so do not take this serious at all
Don't take things to serious, tought it was rather obvious i was not serious about this... For those that tought there was any truth in my statement i can only say one thing, SORRY Mate

As Bachus is freely giving away Yamaha secrets - I shouldn't really be telling you this but just spoke to a Korg representative who said that Korg have some extra surprises for Musikmesse too !!!!!!!

They are producing a "surprise" arranger model, removing the touch screen, deflating the OS, enlarging the buttons with big bright colours, getting rid of all that tough exterior making it under 12lbs, battery operated for playing at picnics, optional zimmer-frame clamp, plus the inclusion over 200 live choir samples.

It's the Kyros Pro - an attempt to sway Tyros owners I bet !!

(OK, I'm a bad, bad boy)
PA4X-76, Karma, WaveDrum GE, Fantom 8 EX

:D That's a heckuva feature list, Pete. But, between you and me, I don't want Korg emulating Yamaha.
