Using Keystage controller with the Reaper DAW

What does it take to get the Keystage controller to integrate well with Reaper to get full use of the controller in Reaper?

Currently the Korg Keystage doesn't support Reaper and although I can use its assignable configuration and map the Keystage CCs to Reaper actions, it doesn't behave like a well integrated solution as it does with its supported DAWs such as Ableton Live - specifically with the latching Play, Record and Stop behaviours.

Reaper, although not in the list of DAWs that support Keystage, appears to be a well supported DAW, from a development perspective, with the latest software release dated 23rd December 2025. Reaper is described as software that's in "constant evolution" so a suggestion to the developers of Reaper may reap dividends in the weeks/months to come.

I'll certainly try asking on Reaper forums too, but I think the issue is the support is really the other way round. It's rather the built-in facility of the Keystage to support Reaper - and for Korg to document what to do as they have for the DAWs they do support.

While I've got all the transport functions mapped and working in Reaper, it requires the Korg Kontrol sofware to configure the Keystage's Play, Rec, Loop buttons to be Toggle behaviour - which isn't an issue, but the niggle is that the Stop button doesn't clear the Play/Rec lights in the same way as when using a supported DAW like Ableton Live - which doesn't require each button mapping at all.

My gut feeling is that support for Reaper is something Korg could add in a firmware update - or even provide documentation on how someone else could do it!
