Style's settings are very limited.

Post by dtastudio2 »

Please help. How to set different "Track type", "range wrap" and "mixer EQ" settings each Style elements in a style? I can do that on Yamaha keyboard, but Korg use the same one settings for all style elements of a style. Ex: "ACC1 track type" can set to DRM at intro 1 and set to GTR at intro 2, to Bas at intro 3,...Currently if I set "Acc1 track type" to "GTR" for use guitar sound at intro1, i can only use this Acc1 track for guitar sound at all other style elements. I no longer can use other sounds like piano, strings or drum on this Acc1 track. It very limited. The same with Range Wrap and mixer EQ setting.

Hi, “ gtr “ setting is used for guitar mode ( watch Qui’s video)
http://www.korgforums.com/forum/phpBB2/ ... p?t=129338 not same as guitar setting in Yamaha .

Unless you’re wanting to specifically create a “ guitar mode “ track, just set track to Acc. and select a guitar sound.
      best wishes

Track type mode can be set once and is common for all Style elements.
If you define for instance in VAR1 , track 2 as Drumkit/Percussion then track 2 can't change type in VAR2 as Guitar Mode.
Therefore if you have a converted Style that varies Track types in Style elements , then you have to duplicate it and copy
tracks to the correct track type.

I know that. Yes, i want to set guitar mode track and change to other mode at other style elements. I'm a yamaha sampler and style creator for a long time. In yamaha style, i can use diffirent track type , range wrap and eq settings each style elements. Maybe You hard to understand what i mean because my bad English haha. Sorry for that.

Thank you. I can do all of that settings with yamaha style. Very flexible. So, Korg need to update the way style working i think. Because yamaha can do all that things from very long time ago. It's 2023 now and a professional Arranger shoundn't woking limited like that.

I disagree , as a sound developer , I prefer all tracks to be organized from scratch , we can define as many track types we like ,
I sometimes use 2 Drum and 2 Guitar modes in styles and built the one I need per element , this is the proper architecture for me !
Advanced users now can create in Pa5X 16 tracks styles using 2 players in sync , definitely no limitation at all ...

No no. You don't understand what i mean. Maybe because my bad english. Sorry for that. But yahama style can do everything that korg style can do right now, even more very flexible.
Each style elements settings are sperate like a diffirent style so you can settings whatever you want, with zero limiting.
Ofcorse, you can define as many track types you like, you even can set diffirent "track type mode"setting for all style elements. Like 2 drum and 2 guitar mode track at var1, 3 drum and 3 guitar mode track at var2,...etc

It could be useful to change track type of an element only in a very complex symphonic style where more than 6 tracks
are needed to be melodic ACC in a specific Style element where we will struggle from tracks number but I have never faced
such a case in hundreds of advanced Styles I have created in 15 years of Styles production , but I always use only full
custom resources in all PaSeries I had owned.

Any feature will be welcomed but is not really necessary compared to other features development we need.
