I have to say looking over the specs for the keyboard type it looks pretty interesting. I have the PSR A2000 and it's still sounds solid to this day, but I am tempted by the A5k :D

Hi Shefu, I am completely sure that you will notice a big difference between A2000 and A5000.

With all certainty I can say that it is a great advance over the A2000, as it has many features of the SX900, such as the "Chord Loop", 1GB of expansion memory. 2GB of internal memory (SX900 has 4GB)

Touch screen (as in SX900 / SX700) 2 USB ports, to connect USB devices, and a USB-HOST port, to connect directly to the PC.

All this, not counting the new factory samples that give an impressive realism to the voices and styles of the Middle East.

regards
Hans

Hello Archi, of course I do.

This is possible through YEM (Yamaha Expansion Manager) which makes it possible to convert Wav, and Sf2 files to the new Yamaha formats: cpi, cpf, and cqi. since the previous format was: ppf, and ppi. and was used for the S770 / S970 / S775 / S975 and A3000 models.

YEM, is a free Yamaha software that you can download from the Yamaha website.

By the way, the latest update to YEM 2.80 is compatible with A5000.

Greetings
Hans

And out of the box, no need to pay third party overpriced crap.

I must try it in a shop asap

Thank you for the reply Hans! I suppose the expansion packs that I bought for the A2000 will work on the A5000 too? I know there is app you can customize and convert styles etc.

The more I watch videos of it and listen to it the more I like it.

Hello Shefu, Of course I do.
With YEM (Yamaha Expansion Manager) you can.
it is free software.

The new YEM format is CPF, CPI and CQI.

the packages of your A2000 are in old YEP format, but you will not have any problem in changing them to CPF, CPI. using YEM.

Greetings.

Hello my friend !!!
I just want to say that you can not convert the old format YEP to PPF CPF to use with YEM (Yamaha Exapansin Manager) that is not possible you can extract the styles only with a third party app.
But yamaha is giving all expansion pack for free for almost all new instruments in CPF format witch is a protected format only for a spesific instrument so i don't know if there is any expansion packs available for A5000 yet ,,,
But you can download all expansion packs 22 of them from Yamaha Asia site available for free fr o A3000 in PPF format witch is comapatible with Yem so you can load them in YEM and make a custom CPF pack to load in A5000 ..
Also you can find many expansoin packs in PPF format from other sources for free ...

Spiros !!!

PS sory about my english !!!

Hello Balcino, thanks for the clarification.

I had Forgotten that Yamaha changed the old yep format to ppi. ppf and then changed to cpf. cpi. cqi. (the latter when the SX700 / SX900 was released)

however you can load packages from the A3000, (ppf.) and through YEM, create your own custom package and save it as cpf., cpi
