Reached 15048 Samples
Moderators: Sharp, X-Trade, Pepperpotty, karmathanever
As I see, there are many who have written opinions here about Korg yamaha..., but the main question is about 15048 samples on Korg pa4x, my friends, as Elmir says ( Pa1000MG contains 26,870 samples ), are they hackers or got resources from Korg ?!
If MG have received any information from Korg, Why Korg don't do it for their own product?
If they don't, how it be possible to someone else without any resources make that??????

The pa4x contains well more than that following the same assumed calculation of ROM+Local+RAM

Im at 11,358 samples 1.13Gb. it is totally possible use the RAM to the max if you get creative with the mix and filtering and switch all stereo samples that have identical samples on both sides over to mono. Most of the common fx are stereo anyways and you can stack more when it's mono and it cuts down on the mix time as well with a wider fatter sound

God idea, But, if you wanna use quality samples, and IF you use Pad loops, then it,s had to compromise.Aripearlmusic wrote:Im at 11,358 samples 1.13Gb. it is totally possible use the RAM to the max if you get creative with the mix and filtering and switch all stereo samples that have identical samples on both sides over to mono. And if you like to have a god sounding instrument, you will need at least 5 Layer, And every layer has at least 45 Samples.
RoundRobin etc, its not enough.
If you like to have another DK, with specific sounds , Like Water drums on Keyboard, Or A god Cajon, Than you will need minimum 100 samples, And if you want it sound authentic you will need 100 more, So 300 Samples is already gone to 300 sample nr!
We need to fix this issue, or KORG fix it.

That explanation, HOW MANY GET THAT?Korghelper wrote:There’s a lot of arranger users that never spent much time with REX loops, so it’s unsurprising that many of them don’t see how the sample limit is easily exceeded.
But put it this way...
One 4/4 loop, four bars long, with a 16th note division = 64 samples.
64 samples X 4 different Variations = 256 samples
4 X 2 bar fills = 128 samples
3 Endings X 8 bars = 384 samples
3 X 4 bar Intros = 192
Total of 960 samples. For ONE style.
Now, 15000 samples don’t sound like a whole lot, does it?
Obviously, that’s an extreme example, some rhythms don’t need slices every single 16/th, but some do. Some need more. Perhaps now some people understand how the sample limit seems so limiting...
I understand that some of the Ketron audio drum style library is available from Ajamsonic recently, but I haven’t yet found out how many samples each style uses, but obviously, the sample number limit will impact how many you can load at one time, especially if you have other loops loaded.
It’s time to insist that this arbitrary limit is lifted with the NEXT OS in its next incarnation.

Well, like i always say, Yes the Korg is a dighole!

it's not about math but it's the reality, people buy a product to use it, do not do a calculation, I ask the question again, why does KorgMG have more than 28,000 samples on Pa1000 MG but not Korg itself does not?
where is the mystery ...???!!!
sorry about my english
Best regard to all

REX may be a dinosaur in computer terms, as high quality CPU intensive timestretching and pitchshifting algorithms have made changing loop tempos or keys quite effective.
Sadly, hardware arrangers don’t have that sort of horsepower. So, for all its archaicness, REX type loopslicing is the ONLY alternative we have to use audio loops out in a live arranger environment, if you want to be able to vary your tempo and switch seamlessly between Variations.
Or had that not occurred to you, Assena?
