I haven't been around for a while but I'm still writing and recording. This is my latest. It's a work in progress since it seems like I'm going through a bit of a lyric writers block. All keyboard sounds come from my trusty old Kronos. The piano sound is one that I built a long time ago by combining a couple of factory piano sounds. The drums are finger played on a Korg Nanopad 2 using modified drum sounds from my Cubase Pro 10 DAW. The acoustic guitar is my wife's small bodied Simon and Patrick. Teh bass is my 5 string Ibanez. I really enjoy writing and playing all the parts. Hope you enjoy it a please feel free to share it with your friends if you like it. Or even if you don't! :)

Below is a new piano piece I recorded tonight. I think this new tweaking of the Berlin piano sound is my best attempt since I bought the K2. 8)

Well played. My fingers are tired! Recording a classical piece like this - I presume you don't play to a click track or attempt to record to a grid such that the measures of the recorded sequence match the sheet music? Just hit record and play, as if recording to tape?

Glad you liked it. Indeed I rarely use any metronome limits to record (except if I would record something of electronic style à la Kraftwerk, for example), so as you mention I just push the record button and do my best.

Great job. Looks like I'm the first one to comment. Thanks for this one! I love the piano sounds the Kronos is capable of.

Hi Jeremy, thank you for your nice comment. I think the Kronos pianos can indeed sound very good with some tweaking. Glad you liked it too.

For this piece, I especially like how the (tweaked) Berlin/Bechstein piano sounds starting around 03:55 until the end as it becomes quite aggressive. I continue to try to improve the sounds including piano ones since I bought my K2 about three years ago.

6 minute song - an issue that has increased since the 90's

In addition to the great Kronos instruments, there are several audio clips that emphasize the topic

Hope you like,

Thanks !
Very great GregC. I do like this blend of musical themes and speach excerpts.

Really slick, polished results.
Reminds me of the opening riff of that Adele song, "Never mind".
The stereo mix is really good, everything is crystal clear.
I've been away from my kronos the past yr due to medical problems but I'm getting back to it.
